Can You Compare Diaper Absorbency at Home?
A simple demonstration using measured amounts of water can help you observe differences such as how quickly different diapers take in liquid or whether visible leakage occurs. However, a home demonstration should not be treated as a laboratory measurement of total absorbency, rewet or overall diaper quality.
For a fair comparison, use unused diapers, the same volume of liquid, the same pouring method and similar waiting times. Remember that water does not reproduce all the characteristics of urine or actual conditions while a baby is wearing a diaper.
Why the Right Diaper Size Matters for Absorbency and Leakage
Absorbency and fit work together. A diaper that does not fit correctly can allow liquid to escape around the waist or legs even when the absorbent core still has capacity.
